The state of Tamaulipas is located in the Northern Gulf Coastal Plain

The state of Tamaulipas is located in the Northern Gulf Coastal Plain.

It has 43 municipalities, 8,826 villages and a population of 2,753,222 (1,359,874 male and 1,393,348 female).

Ciudad Victoria is its capital, located at 320 meters over sea level.

BORDERING STATES

Tamaulipas borders on the north with the state of Nuevo León and the United States of America; East with United States of America and the Gulf of Mexico; to the south with the Gulf of Mexico and the states of Veracruz-Llave and San Luis Potosí; West with the states of San Luis Potosí and Nuevo León.
